Youth Need Cash, Not Just Opportunities, to Succeed

This 2018 opinion piece for YouthToday, talks about why it matters that young people have enough cash as they grow up, and in the transition into adulthood. In this article, you meet two Michaels. The first was one of my Lyft drivers, who was juggling multiple jobs and still not able to pay the bills. His grueling work schedule left no time or energy to go back to school or find a better paying opportunity. The second is Mayor Michael Tubbs, of Stockton, California. Mayor Tubbs is a huge advocate for getting cash directly into the hands of struggling families, and that's exactly what he has been doing in his hometown.
